During my time in 4-H I have been in three different projects. I started out in cavies, more commonly known as guinea pigs.
During my first year at fair I met my first two goats at a petting zoo. We bought the goats and I started goat 4-H that next year. That is when I learned that goats are similar to potato chips and you are unable to stop getting more. In addition to making me fall in love with goats, 4-H has helped me in ways that are a little difficult for me a explain.
I have always been really introverted and shy. I had trouble talking to people at all. I actually cried and tried really hard to get out of my first public presentation. But 4-H gave me such incredible confidence and I am so thankful for that. This is actually the last year that I will be able to participate in 4-H and I hope to make it the best year yet. I hope to continue being the goat barn teen superintendent as I had been in the last two years.
Along with 4-H I spin colorguard. For those who don’t know what color guard is, let me enlighten you. You know the flags, rifles, and sabres that perform with the marching band? That’s me. I have been in color guard since my freshman year and plan on continuing until I graduate. Colorguard takes up most of my free time, but when I’m not spinning, I do normal teenager things like hang out with friends and go to school. But, my real passion is writing. I love the freedom I get when I right and hope to be able to work it in to a career some how.
That’s pretty much all there is to me. I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences with all of you and I can’t wait to see where this wonderful opportunity takes me.
