CHOOSING A VACCINE FOR DOGS & PUPPIES
Canine Spectra by Durvet offers options of vaccines for dogs and puppies. For puppies, they offer one with protection against canine Coronavirus (Spectra 6) and one without (Spectra 5). For dogs, they offer an option without without protection against canine Coronavirus (spectra 9) and two with the Coronavirus antigen (Spectra 10 and 10 + Lyme), one of which also protects against Lyme disease.
A recommended vaccination schedule should start at or about 6 weeks of age with either Spectra 5 or 6. The presence of maternal antibodies is known to interfere with the development of active immunity. Puppies should be revaccinated every 2 to 3 weeks until at least 18 weeks of age. All dogs over 16 weeks of age should initially receive one dose of Spectra 9, Spectra 10, or Spectra 10 + Lyme and a second dose of the same vaccine 2 to 3 weeks later. Annual revaccination with a single dose of the same vaccine is recommended.

CHOOSING A VACCINE FOR CATS
Feline Focus Cat Vax 3 by Durvet offers two options for cats and kittens 8 weeks of age, one with that offers protection against Feline Leukemia (Focus Cat Vax 3 + FeLV) and one without (Focus Cat Vax 3). Both vaccines offer protection from the three core cat dieseases, Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia. VACCINATING AT HOME
Vaccinating your pet at home can be quick, easy, and less expensive. It may also be less stressful for your pet to not have to travel. However, there are important considerations before vaccinating at home.
Only vaccinate healthy animals. Animals incubating any disease or stressed due to shipping, malnutrition, or parasitism may not achieve or maintain an adequate immune response.

It is a good idea to speak with your veterinarian before beginning an at-home vaccination protocol.
Syringes and needles are considered hazardous waste and they must be disposed of accordance with local laws and regulations. They CANNOT be put in the trash or recycling. Most cities and counties offer a sharps or medical waste program. Contact your local government for disposal details. Vials and unused contents should be burned or disposed of the same way.
DO-IT-YOURSELF VACCINATION GUIDE

Each single-dose bag of Canine Spectra or Feline Focus vaccine contains a syringe and two vials – one with liquid contents and one with freeze-dried contents. Use immediately after mixing as shown below. The dosage is 1 mL injected subcutaneously.
Step One:
Open syringe by twisting or tapping the cap against a hard surface to break the heat weld. Insert the needle directly through the cap of the vial containing liquid. Withdraw the contents into the syringe.
Step Two:
Inject the syringe contents into the vial containing freeze-dried material and shake well.
Step Three:
Withdraw the entire vaccine mixture (1 mL) into the syringe. Remove any air by gently pushing the plunger until the vaccine just begins to flow from the needle.
Step Four:
The vaccine will be injected subcutaneously. The recommended vaccination site is the loose skin at the back of the neck and shoulder. Gently grasp and elevate a fold of loose skin. Insert the needle into the soft tissue directly under the skin and inject the entire contents of the syringe. Do not inject directly into a blood vessel. IMPORTANT NOTE: Before injecting vaccine, pull back slightly on syringe plunger. If blood enters the syringe freely, choose another injection site.
