This past week representatives from Wilco attended the Washington State FFA Convention to help further a company goal of sustaining the education of youth in agriculture through Wilco’s FFA Forever campaign.
The program started a few years ago with Wilco’s commitment to Oregon FFA to help them become self-funded and more stable. As Wilco has grown into Washington, so has the support of the Washington FFA. Today, Wilco’s efforts have raised more than $140,000 for Oregon and Washington FFA; including this presentation for $37,000 to Washington.
TJ Colson, Wilco’s District Manager of half the retail stores, attended the FFA Convention in Pullman, at the Washington State college campus. TJ was joined by Chantea Macaulay, who works on Wilco’s HR Team and was returning to a familiar area as Cougar alumni. “It’s truly a humbling and moving experience to work with and present to students who have a passion for agriculture. We’re very proud and appreciative of this opportunity,” said TJ about their time at the convention.
Wilco has plans to continue the FFA Forever program in addition to other support provided to agricultural youth organizations and events. Whether it is an FFA Convention, Junior Livestock Auction, Rodeo, High School Equestrian Team or a Dog park, if it involves animals, pets, crops and youth, you’re likely to see a Wilco banner or employee hanging out.
